Retail Assistant – Millers Homewares, Frome

Approx. 15 hours per week – Every Saturday 10-3 and two additional midweek 4/5 hour days on rota.  Must be flexible.

 

Millers are seeking a Retail Sales Assistant – Ideally someone with an interest in cooking, baking, styling, knitting or DIY and a desire to share their knowledge with customers.  This role is for 3 days per week (approx. 5hrs per day) to include Saturdays 10-3.  You’ll need to have flexibility for alternative days (advance notice will be provided).

The Retail Assistant Role

This role will require someone that can work flexibly across our store, supporting our team with a range of tasks including:

  • Supporting customers with their enquiries, offering product advice and processing sales
  • Managing and accepting stock deliveries
  • Maintaining the appearance of the shop floor
  • Restocking and displaying merchandise
  • Taking telephone queries from customers

Retail Assistant Essentials

Experience is an advantage but not essential as full training will be provided but you’ll be expected to;

  • Work as part of the team and follow processes and management instructions
  • Be confident, with strong communication skills and present well
  • Have good attention to detail in everything you do
  • Be curious and willing to learn about our products
  • Be computer literate and ideally have experience working with EPOS systems

Please note that lifting and carrying of heavy goods (garden furniture and heavy boxes) in and outside of the shop and up and down stairs will be required.
